Biography

Stefan Kolev was born in 1969 in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Graduated with a master's degree in Electronics from the Burgas Free University in 1998.

Graduated with a master's degree in Finance from the Burgas Free University in 2001.

Graduated Muay Thai (2006) and Wushu (2007) from the National Sports Academy (NSA) "Vasil Levski", Bulgaria.

Graduated with a master's degree in Sports Pedagogy from the Veliko Tarnovo University "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in 2010.

Co-founder of the Wushu specialty at the "Vasil Levski" National Sports Academy, Sofia, and is the first teacher of this specialty. He has written numerous articles and materials on Wushu.

Began practicing wushu in 1983. Founder of one of the first wushu sports clubs in Bulgaria in 1994.

Gold medalist of international competitions. Multiple national wushu champion. Licensed wushu judge since 2007.

Member of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Wushu Federation since 1994. President of the Bulgarian Wushu Federation since 2015. Vice-President of the European Wushu Federation /EUWUF/ since January 2020.

In 2016, under the leadership of Mr. Stefan Kolev, the Bulgarian Wushu Federation organized the 6th World Junior Wushu Championships in Burgas, Bulgaria.

In 2018, under the leadership of Mr. Stefan Kolev, the Bulgarian Wushu Federation organized the 3rd World Taichi Championships in Burgas, Bulgaria.

In 2022 under the leadership of Mr. Stefan Kolev, the Bulgarian Wushu Federation organized the European Wushu Championships in Burgas, Bulgaria.

Mr. Kolev has three daughters and a son. All of Mr. Kolev's children practice Wushu.

His eldest daughter, Kamelia Koleva, won 7th place at the Olympic Games in Nanjing in 2014. Kamelia is a European champion and medalist in world tournaments.

His younger daughter, Denitsa Koleva, won 8th place at the 6th World Junior Wushu Championships 2016. Denitsa is a European champion and a medalist in international tournaments.

Stefan Kolev financed the construction of a World Wushu Training Center in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria. The sports center will be opened in 2024. The sports halls will be able to be used by wushu practitioners and wushu teams from all over the world. The building will be able to host wushu judging and coaching courses, wushu seminars and sports camps. Stefan Kolev also invested in several other sports facilities at the regional level.

Stefan Kolev is the founder of the construction company Burgos Stroy Ltd. in 2004, of the real estate agency Sunny BG Ltd. in 2006 and of the advertising agency Sunflowers BG Ltd. in 2007. He is the owner of several companies related to construction, real estate, hospitality, advertising activity and others.

He is a member of the Supreme Committee of the Union of Thracian Organizations in Bulgaria. Chairman of the non-governmental organization "Thracian association "Strandja", which protects the interests of Bulgarians from the region of Thrace. The organization has over 120 years of history and over 1000 members.

Municipal Councilor in the Municipality of Burgas 2015-2019 and chairman of the "Commission for small and medium-sized businesses".
